James T. Sullivan, General Chairman of the Chicago Saint Patrick's Day Parade, is searching for Chicago's fairest colleen to become "Queen of the Saint Patrick's Parade".
One lucky lady will be selected as Queen and four additional ladies will be chosen as her court. The Queen and her Court will represent the Chicago Irish community at the annual Saint Patricks Day Parade. The Queen and her Court will be expected to attend civic, neighborhood, parish and other Irish events throughout the year on behalf of the Parade Committee.
Any girl of Irish ancestry, never married, 17-27 years old, is eligible to enter the contest. Entrants should send a current snapshot along with their name, age, address, phone number, brief biography and an explanation of why you want to be Queen.
The contest will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2012, in the Stephen M. Bailey Auditorium, 1340 W. Washington Blvd., Chicago, Illinois 60607. Deadline for entries is Friday, February 10, 2012.
